Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack
Client-Facing Delivery & Fractional CTO
USD $150–$200/hour
~5–10 hours/week
The Role
We're hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who is equally comfortable shaping code and shaping client relationships—and who steps into a Fractional CTO capacity on every engagement. This is a part-time, fully remote contractor role where you'll serve as the executive-level bridge between our clients and our engineering team. You'll join discovery and strategy calls, lead technical decisions, translate complex realities into clear business outcomes, and keep delivery aligned with client goals. You'll work alongside our internal CTO to own portions of account leadership, including communication, alignment, and escalation management. This is a strong fit if you want to stay hands-on with real-world software projects, operate at an executive level with clients, and exercise broad technical judgment across modern web, mobile, and AI stacks—without taking on a full-time role.
What You'll Do
- Join video calls with clients—discovery, status, strategy, roadmap, and executive stakeholder sessions
- Lead client-facing technical strategy, clarifying product goals, scope, constraints, success metrics, and risks
- Support the KRON CTO by owning portions of account leadership: communication, alignment, and escalation management
- Shape solution architecture and delivery approach, including stack selection, build-vs-buy decisions, integrations, security, scalability, and cost trade-offs
- Translate client needs into clear, actionable engineering work—epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery milestones
- Set and communicate delivery expectations around timelines, dependencies, risks, and blockers, surfacing issues early and proactively
- Drive decision-making by facilitating trade-off conversations with non-technical stakeholders and keeping projects moving
- Produce crisp documentation: meeting notes, action items, decision logs, and executive-ready status updates
- Improve delivery operations with lightweight process improvements across discovery, build, and launch—without adding bureaucracy
- Identify expansion opportunities (performance, analytics, AI, mobile, security) and support light pre-sales work when appropriate
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders and become a credible technical advisor for key accounts
What We're Looking For
- Native-level English, spoken and written; confident leading calls with US clients and executive stakeholders
- 10+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, Architect, Head of Engineering, VP Engineering, CTO, or Fractional CTO
- Current, hands-on experience with the latest technologies—not advisory-only. You should be actively building with today’s leading tools across web, mobile, and AI
- Solid grasp of APIs, data, cloud infrastructure, and the trade-offs involved in designing for scale, security, and cost
- Proven ability to discuss technical topics fluently with non-technical and semi-technical stakeholders—you can talk through architectures, trade-offs, and risks without losing precision or losing the room
- Comfortable with US time zones and US communication style
- Highly organized and reliable—you follow up, close loops, and document decisions clearly
- Able to work independently in a fully remote environment with minimal oversight
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience with US-based clients and enterprise stakeholders
- Background in pre-sales, consulting, customer success, or account leadership
- Experience shipping FinTech, eCommerce, or AI-enabled products
- Familiarity with security and compliance expectations (SOC 2, data privacy, regulated environments)
Time & Schedule
- Part-time: typically 5–10 hours per week (may vary by client load)
- Flexible schedule, with availability for calls in US time zones when needed
- Fully remote—based anywhere
This is a senior, high-trust role. You'll represent KRON at an executive level for key accounts, and the compensation reflects that. We never ask candidates to pay any fees or purchase equipment as part of the hiring process.
